Maria G. (Pimentel) Rego

Maria G. (Pimentel) Rego, 92, of Hudson, MA, passed away surrounded by her loving family on Sunday, August 6, 2023 at Marlborough Hills Rehabilitation Center in Marlborough, MA. She was the beloved wife of the late Antonio V. Rego who died in 2001.

Maria was born and raised in St. Michael, the Azores of Portugal, daughter of the late Jose and Clarinha (Martins) Pimentel. She emigrated to the United States in 1972 and settled in Hudson, MA. She was a member of Saint Michael’s Parish in Hudson, MA.

Maria is survived by her 6 children, Filomena Rego and her husband Steven Pouliot of South Burlington, VT, Natercia Durand and her husband Bill Delaney of Marlborough, MA, Octavia Chaves and her husband Manuel Chaves of Hudson, MA, Manuel Rego and his wife Cidalia Rego of Hudson, MA, Maria Coan and her husband Frank Simonetti of Northborough, MA and Clara Rego-Murphy and her husband Michael Murphy of Bolton, MA. She also leaves her 9 grandchildren, Marta, Andre, Laetitia, Justin, Amanda, Stephanie, Kendra, Zachary, Brandon; her 9 great grandchildren, Gianna, Mariah, Lucy, Andrew, Cooper, Emerie, Quinlin, Teo, Ada; her brother Jeremias Pimentel of St. Michael, Azores and many nieces, nephews, other relatives and close friends. She was predeceased by her siblings Teresa Oliveira, Maria Anastacio, Olivia Carvalho, Joao Pimentel, Jose Pimentel and Filomena Botelho.

Maria was a devoted wife, loving mother, doting grandmother and loyal friend to many. Her passion in life was her family and caring for the home they shared. She cherished spending time with her family, especially later with her grandchildren and great grandchildren. She will be missed by all who loved and knew her.

The family will celebrate Maria’s life privately as she wished with a Mass of Christian Burial at Saint Michael Parish and burial in Saint Michael Cemetery in Hudson, MA. Tighe Hamilton Regional Funeral Home, 50 Central Street, Hudson, MA is honored to be assisting the family with arrangements. There are no calling hours.
