Hudson, MA
Maria D. (Andrade) Godinho-81, of Hudson, MA, died Friday, December 29, 2006, at home surrounded by her loving family.
She was the wife of 51 years to the late Jose P. Godinho who died in 1998.
Born in Santa Maria the Azores, she was the daughter of the late Jose Tito and Eugenia (Cabral) Andrade.
She was a resident of Hudson from 1973 until her passing after moving to the United States from Santa Maria in 1973.
She was a member of Saint Michael's Parish in Hudson and the Portuguese Continental Union, Lodge #5 in Hudson. She was an avid baker of pastries and cakes and enjoyed baking wedding cakes for her granddaughters. One of her proudest moments she often spoke about with her family was when she became a United States citizen in 1999.
She is survived by her son, Jose A. Godinho and his wife Isaura of Hudson; three grandchildren, Nancy G. Nogueria and her husband Manuel, Christine G. Monteiro and her husband David, and Frank J. Godinho all of Hudson. She is also survived by one brother, Jose Tito Andrade of Santa Maria; one sister, Angelina Andrade of California; four great grandchildren, Alisha, Amanda and Andrew Nogueria, and J.J. Monteiro and several nieces and nephews.
A funeral mass will be celebrated Tuesday, January 2, 2007 at 9:00 a.m. in Saint Michaels Church 21 Manning street Hudson, MA. Calling hours will be held Monday January 1, from 3:00 to 6:00 p.m. at the Tighe-Hamilton Funeral Home, Inc. 50 Central Street, Hudson, MA 01749. Burial will be in Saint Michael's Cemetery, Hudson, MA.
