Maria C. (Torres) Graca, 66, of Hudson, MA died late on Sunday, June 26, 2022 at home surrounded by her loving family. She leaves her beloved husband Emanuel Graca of Hudson, MA of 50 years.

Besides her husband, Maria leaves her 3 sons, Carlos Graca and wife Casey of Hudson, Nelson Graca and wife Tracey of San Diego, Brian Graca and wife Brianna of Hudson; her daughter, Sonia Demelo and husband Nelson of Bolton along with her sister, Fatima Janeiro and husband Alvario and 9 loving grandchildren, Kylie, Madison, Adrienne, Ava, Lillian, Owen, Aiden, Jillian, and Olivia. She was so excited about her last grandchild Jackson who is expected in August.

Maria was born and raised in Portugal on the Island of St. Miguel, daughter of the late Manuel and Geraldina (Raposa) Torres. She emigrated to the states in 1979 settling in a town close to the city of Fresno, CA and resided there until 1990 when the family moved to Hudson, MA. After many years working on a farm in CA, she operated her child care center from the home, “Maria's Day Care” in Hudson until retiring in 2013.

Maria was very active and proud of her Portuguese heritage in Hudson and was a member and former secretary of the Holy Ghost Society in Hudson where she helped plan and host many events. She was also a member of St. Michael’s Parish in Hudson. Her faith and devotion to God is what led her life and allowed her to acquire a community of close friends who were unwaveringly loyal to each other.

Maria spent her life dedicated to the care of her family. She cared for her own beloved parents for many years all while raising her own children. Seeing others happy and together was her utmost priority. Forgiveness and understanding were her top values and the way she embodied them are what made her a completely unique person.

Carmen looked forward to visiting St. Miguel and spending time with family and friends. She cherished her children and later all her grandchildren, cooking for them was always a treat. She will be remembered for her warm and giving spirit by all who loved and knew her.

Relatives and friends are invited to a period of visitation from 4-7pm Friday, July 1, 2022 at Tighe Hamilton Regional Funeral Home, 50 Central St., Hudson, MA. A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated at 9am on Saturday, July 2, 2022 at Saint MIchael Parish, 21 Manning St., Hudson, MA; followed by a procession to Saint Michael Cemetery in Hudson for Committal Services.
