Maria P. Bairos

Maria P. (Cabral) Bairos of Hudson, 81 years old, died on Saturday, June 3 , 2023 at UMASS Memorial Medical Center, University Campus in Worcester, MA after a period of declining health.

Maria is survived by her husband of 61 years, Jose N. Bairos; her son, Joao M. Bairos and his wife Maria H. of Hudson, MA; her two daughters, Maria I. Bairos and Lucia Bairos, both of Hudson, MA and two grandchildren, Nick and Patrick Bairos of Hudson, MA. She is also survived by her brother, Tony Cabral and his wife Ines of Hudson, MA along with many nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends.

Maria was born and raised in Santa Maria, the Azores of Portugal, daughter of the late Manuel and Maria (Pereira) Cabral. She emigrated to the United States in 1974 settling in Hudson, MA where she has resided since 1974. She was employed as a machine operator for many years by S F Medical Company in Hudson, MA until retiring in 2004. She worked for Marlboro Footwear in Marlborough, MA for a short time prior to S F Medical. She was a long-time member of Saint Michael Parish in Hudson, MA.

Maria meant a great deal to her family, she devoted her time to caring for the family home, raising her children and also caring for her wonderful two grandchildren. She would plan gatherings for family and relatives and prepare many dishes for all to enjoy. She will always be remembered for her love and devotion by all who loved and knew her.

Relatives and friends are invited to a period of visitation from 9:00 to 10:30 AM on Monday, June 12, 2023 at Tighe Hamilton Regional Funeral Home, 50 Central St., Hudson, MA. A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated at 11 AM on Monday, June 12, 2023 at Saint Michael Parish, 21 Manning St., Hudson, MA; followed by a procession to Saint Michael Cemetery in Hudson for Committal Services.
