Maria P. Braga, 86, of Hudson, died on Saturday, Jan. 17th at Sudbury Pines Extended Care Center in Sudbury surrounded by her loving family. She was the beloved wife of 43 years to the late Joao R. Braga.
Maria was born and raised in Santa Maria, the Azores of Portugal, daughter of the late Manuel Resendes and Maria da Costa. She has been a longtime resident of Hudson and was a former employee of the Hudson Lock Company in Hudson.
She is survived by her loving children, Maria R. Rego and her husband Antonio of Hudson, Jose R. Braga and his partner Laura Moreira of Hudson, Evangelina R. Braga of Rhode Island, Denis R. Braga and his wife Maria of Worcester and Arsenio R. Braga of Hampton, NH and her loving daughter in-law Inez Braga of Hudson. She was the sister of the late Angelina Monteiro and is also survived by her 5 brothers, Jose Resendes of Canada, Eugenio Resendes of Portugal, Antonio Resendes of Canada, Manuel Resendes of Hudson, Agostino Resendes of Hudson; 3 sisters, Rosa Resendes of Portugal, Laura Resendes of Canada, Angela Monteiro of Canada; 14 grandchildren, Zaira McIlvene, Tina Frias, Jason Braga, Anita Telhada, Jerumis Mattos, Kristy Tabb, Lexi Braga, Anthony Braga, David Braga, Johnathan Braga, Tommy Braga, Joey Braga, Christina Braga, Jerry Braga; 12 great grandchildren, Leigha, Paulie, Nathan, Miranda, David, Jay Jr., Mack, Gabriel, Divinity, Angel, Emmanuel; her great-great grandson Jayden and many nieces and nephews.
A funeral mass will be celebrated on Wednesday, Jan. 21st at 9:00 a.m. in Saint Michael's Church, 21 Manning Street, Hudson. Burial will follow in Saint Michael's Cemetery, Hudson. Family and friends may attend calling hours on Tuesday Jan 20th from 6:00 to 8:00 p.m. at the Tighe-Hamilton Funeral Home, Inc. 50 Central Street, Hudson, MA 01749.
