Maria G. (Rego) Pimentel, 87, 0f Hudson, died Thursday, Aug. 27th at Marlboro Hospital. She was the wife of the late Jose Pimentel who died in 2002.
Maria was born and raised in St. Miguel, Portugal, daughter of the late Adelino and Maria (Rego) Rego and moved to Hudson in 1972. She was employed by the former Thomas Taylor and Sons Co. as a machine operator from 1972 till her retirement in 1984. Maria showed a special love and care for animals, especially her pets. She enjoyed cooking and creating many special dishes she shared with family and friends and was very creative with many crafts and embroidery. She was a member of Saint Michael's Parish in Hudson. Maria's family would like to extend their heartfelt thanks to the staff and residents at Marlborough Hills Healthcare for the care and love she received there the past few months.
She is survived by her children, Carlos Pimentel and his wife Christine of Hudson, Antonio Pimentel of London, Ontario, Jose Pimentel Jr. and his wife Eduarda of Cambridge, Ontario, Joao Pimentel and his wife Maureen of Pompano Beach, Florida and Tina Silva and her husband Mario of Hudson. She is also survived by her brother, Eduardo Rego of Portugal; her sister, Laudalina Rego of Portugal; eight grandchildren; one great grandchild and many nieces and nephews.
A funeral mass will be celebrated on Tuesday, Sept. 1st at 9:00 a.m. in Saint Michael's Church, 21 Manning Street, Hudson. Burial will follow in Saint Michael's Cemetery, Hudson. Calling hours will be held on Monday, Aug. 31st, from 5:00 to 8:00 p.m. at the Tighe-Hamilton Funeral Home, Inc. 50 Central St. Hudson, MA 01749.
