Maria R. Braga

Maria Rosa Braga, age 71, of Hudson, passed away peacefully at home on December 23, 2024, surrounded by her loving family after a long illness. Born on October 15, 1953, in Santa Maria, Azores, Portugal.

Maria was the devoted wife of Antonio Braga, with whom she shared 46 wonderful years of marriage filled with love and cherished memories. She was a proud and loving mother to Jennifer Larrivee and her husband Michael of Hudson, Michael Braga and his wife Anne of Hudson, Jason Braga and his wife Chelsea of Berlin, and Andrew Braga and his wife Leighann of Hudson, as well as her many siblings, nieces, and nephews. Her love and guidance shaped her children’s lives, and her strength and compassion will remain a legacy within her family. 

A doting and proud grandmother, Maria adored her grandchildren: Olivia Larrivee, Benjamin Larrivee, and Rory Braga. Spending time with her grandchildren brought her immense joy, and she cherished every moment shared with them.

Maria was deeply devoted to her church and played an active role in the Portuguese community, offering her time and energy to support and uplift those around her. Her faith and cultural pride were central to her life and values.

Maria will be remembered for her kindness, unwavering love for her family, and the warmth she brought into the lives of everyone she met. Her strength during her illness was an inspiration to all who knew her.

Relatives and friends are welcome to attend visiting hours Thursday, January 2, 2025, from 4 to 7 p.m. at Tighe Hamilton Regional Funeral Home, 50 Central St., Hudson, MA. A funeral service will be held Friday, January 3, 2025, at 10 a.m. Saint Michael Church, 21 Manning Street, Hudson, MA. 

In lieu of flowers, the family kindly requests donations to the Pancreatic Cancer Action Network (PanCan).

Maria’s family takes comfort in knowing she is now at peace, and her love will continue to live on in their hearts.
