Maria (Raposo) Silva, 79, of Marlboro, died Saturday, Oct. 3rd at Emerson Hospital in Concord. She was the wife of the late Jacinto T. Silva who died in 1995.
Maria was born in St. Miguel the Azores in Portugal and was the daughter of the late Jose and Almorinda (Goncalves) Raposo. She was a retired machine operator at the former Thomas Taylor and Son's Co. in Hudson for many years. Maria was a member of Saint Michael's Parish in Hudson.
She is survived by her three sons, Jose Silva and his wife Lucy of Hudson, Carlos Silva and his wife Patricia of Marlboro and Mario Silva and his wife Norma Velez of Marlboro; her two daughters, Goretti Silva and her husband Daniel Verge of Hudson, Maria Silva of Framingham and her fiancAC. Joseph Cummings of Hudson. She is also survived by her brother Mariano Raposo of St. Miguel, Portugal; her grandchildren, Mike, Brian and Deborah Silva, Melissa, Joseph and William Morin, Daniel Verge and one great grandchild, Adin McLauglin. She was predeceased by her daughter Madalena Silva in 1962.
A funeral mass will be celebrated on Friday, Oct. 9th at 9:00 a.m. in Saint Michael's Church, 21 Manning Street, Hudson. Burial will follow in Saint Michael's Cemetery, Hudson. Calling hours will be held on Thursday, Oct. 8th, from 5:00 to 8:00 p.m. at the Tighe-Hamilton Funeral Home, 50 Central Street, Hudson, MA 01749.
