Maria Silva Pacheco

Maria Silva Pacheco, 88 years old of Hudson, MA, passed away on August 16, 2024 at Brigham & Women’s Hospital in Boston. Maria was born on July 11, 1936, on the island of Santa Maria, Acores in Portugal. She lived there with her late mother, Lina Da Silva and her late father, Luis Da Silva. She spent her younger years in Santa Maria, Acores, but eventually moved to the United States in the 1960’s and has been a long time resident in Hudson, MA where she lived with her husband and three children. Maria was married to her husband of more than 60 years Virginio Pacheco. Maria had 3 children. Her daughter Joanne Tostoes married to Jose Tostoes of Clinton, MA and her daughter Margarida Pacheco of Hudson, MA and her son Joe Pacheco of Hudson, MA. She had 3 grandchildren, Joey Pacheco, Gino Pacheco and Luis Pacheco. Maria also had many nephews and nieces.

Maria worked for the Arrow Factory for many years and then worked at Saint Mark’s School cafeteria for many years until she retired in her 70’s. 

Maria is survived by 3 siblings, Senifredo Da Silva, Aguiar Silva, and Jose Silva. She is also predeceased by her siblings, Maxmiliano Da Silva, Joao Da Silva, Luis Silva, Jose Da Silva, Vasco Silva and Aclino Antunes. 

Maria loved helping people and loved spending time with her family and friends. She loved cooking for people and enjoyed her vacations in Portugal. 

Visitation will be held from 5 p.m until 8 p.m. on Thursday, August 22, 2024 at Tighe Hamilton Regional Funeral Home, 50 Central Street, Hudson, MA. A Funeral Mass will be celebrated at 10:00 a.m. on Friday, August 23, 2024, at Saint Michael Church, 21 Manning Street, Hudson, MA followed by burial at Saint Michael Cemetery.
