Marie B. (Carpenger) Mulcahy, 81, of Hudson, died Monday, Aug. 10th at Marlboro Hospital. She was the wife of the late Robert J. Mulcahy, who died in 1994.
Born and raised in Needham, daughter of the late Mark and Helen (Nagel) Carpenger, she graduated from Needham High School in 1946 and attended Regis College in Weston. She was employed by the former Calvert's Department Store in Needham as a sales clerk for more than 25 years. Marie was an active member of the Hudson Senior Center and member of Saint Michael's Parish and its Ladies Sodality in Hudson. Marie will be mostly remembered for her love and devotion to her family and the many baked goods she prepared.
She is survived by her children, Richard J. Mulcahy and his wife Tiffany of Pembroke, N.H., Robin A. Mulcahy of Concord, N.H., Mark W. Mulcahy and his wife Andreea of Brooklyn, N.Y., Kevin L. Mulcahy and his wife Deborah, and Diane M. Mulherin and her husband Timothy, all of Hudson. She is also survived by her daughter-in-law, Leslee Mulcahy of Montpelier, Vt., wife of Marie's late son Robert M. Mulcahy, who died in 2000; 17 grandchildren; six great grandchildren and many nieces and nephews.
A funeral mass will be celebrated on Friday, Aug. 14th at 9 a.m. at Saint Michael's Church, 21 Manning Street, Hudson. A Committal service will be held at the convenience of the family at Saint Mary's Cemetery, Needham, at a later date. There are no calling hours.
