Hudson, MA
Marilyn J. (Simard) Holmes, 69, of Hudson, formerly of Bolton, died Monday, Jan. 26th at her home after a courageous battle with cancer. She was the wife for 27 years to the late Herbert A. Holmes who predeceased her in 1986.
She was born and raised in Marlboro, daughter of the late Alphege and Mona (Leach) Simard and was employed by the former Digital Equipment Corp., later Compaq and Hewlett Packard as a program director for 15 years until retiring in 2004. She resided in Bolton from 1974 to 2004 before moving to Hudson after retirement.
She is survived by her four sons, Peter Holmes and his wife Kirby and their daughters, Jennifer and Ashley of East Sandwich, Jeffrey Holmes of Hudson, Philip Holmes of East Sandwich and Bryan Holmes and his wife Laura and their children Morgan and Mason of Bolton.
A celebration of her life will be held on Saturday, Jan. 31 at 11:00 a.m. at the Trinity Church, 14 Wattaquadock Hill Road, Bolton. Burial will follow in South Cemetery, Bolton. Calling hours will be held on Friday, Jan. 30 from 5:00 to 7:00 p.m. at the Tighe-Hamilton Funeral Home, Inc. 50 Central St. Hudson, MA 01749.
