Marilyn Wenzel McCauley of Bolton, Mass., passed away on Friday, January 23, 2015.
Born August 18, 1935 in Norwalk, Conn., she was the daughter of Harry and Elsie (Bartley) Wenzel. Beloved wife of James C. McCauley for 46 years; loving mother of Mary Ellen and her husband, Louis Shelzi, Jr., of Orange, N.H.; Jennifer and her husband, Derek Stern, of Barrington, RI, and Christopher and his wife Marcy of Sterling, Mass.; proud grandmother of Marcello and Alaina Shelzi, and James and Sadie Stern; sister of Harry Wenzel of South Carolina, Alice Selleck of Newtown, Conn., and Cecilia Gwizdak of Ramona, CA.
Also survived by an extended family, nieces and nephews, as well as a wealth of friends.
Marilyn was a parishioner of St. Theresa's Little Flower parish, Harvard, Mass. She was a member of P.E.O. (a woman's philanthropic organization) and Harvard Woman's Club. She was a member of the National Honor Society and was extremely talented with a passion for reading and writing. She enjoyed doing crossword puzzles and rooting for her beloved Red Sox. She loved planning overseas trips and accompanying her husband traveling on his business trips.
If desired, donations may be made in Marilyn's memory to the P.E.O. Foundation (in memory of Marilyn McCauley), Chapter AO/Harvard, MA addressed to P.E.O. Foundation, 3700 Grand Ave., Des Moines, IA 50312.
A funeral mass will be celebrated on Thursday, Jan. 29th at 10:00 a.m. in Saint Theresa's Church, 15 Still River Road, Harvard. Committal services in Saint Mary's Cemetery, Franklin Street, Mansfield have been postponed, time and date to be announced as soon as possible. Family and friends may attend calling hours on Wednesday Jan 28th from 5:00 to 8:00 p.m. at the Tighe-Hamilton Funeral Home, Inc. 50 Central Street, Hudson, MA 01749
