Hudson, MA
Marion R. Rowan of Hudson passed peacefully on February 27, 2006 with her family by her side. She was the beloved wife of Richard F. Rowan. She will always live in the lives that she leaves behind. In those whom she blessed she will live again.
She was born on January 31, 1929 the daughter of the late John Arthur and Kathleen Louise McFaden Martin, sister of Arlene Louise Martin Gray, and the late William Milne Martin. She was raised in Framingham, Ma. and was on the girls Framingham High School basketball teams, choir, active in 4-H and graduated in 1946. She graduated from the Fay School and employed her education and skill in the business office of General Motors in Framingham where she met her husband Richard F. Rowan.
They married and moved to Hudson in 1951 where they raised their three children. Marion was active in Catholic Daughters, St. Vincent de Paul Society, and her favorite charity was the St. Joseph Indian School in Chamberlain, S.D. She enjoyed traveling with her family and visited 49 states, Bermuda, and Ireland. She loved following politics, and was an avid fan of Boston College athletics as well as the Red Sox, and Patriots.
She will be missed by her husband Richard F. Rowan, sister Arlene Louise Martin Gray, daughters Gail Ann Rowan McCabe of Largo, Fl. Carol Anne Rowan West of Marshfield, Ma, and a son Michael Dennis Rowan of Newburyport, Ma: also five grandchildren Ryan Martin McCabe, Thom Patrick McCabe, John Rowan West, William Walton Rowan, and Jonathan Arthur Rowan, ten nieces and nephews, and 16 grand nieces and nephews.
Arrangements: Funeral services will be held on Saturday March 4, 2006 at 9:00 at St. Michael's Church in Hudson, followed by internment at St. Stephens Cemetery in Framingham. Calling hours at Tighe-Hamilton Funeral Home, (www.tighehamilton.com) 50 Central St. Hudson, Ma. will be Friday March 3, 2006 from 4:00 to 8:00 p.m. In lieu of flowers, donations in her memory may be made to the St. Joseph Indian School Special Gifts Department P.
