Marjorie H. (Hardy) O'Brien, 83, of Hudson, died Sunday, Jan. 16th at the Coleman House in Northboro surrounded by her loving family. She is survived by her husband of 61 years, John O'Brien of Hudson.
Marjorie was born and raised in New Glasgow, Nova Scotia, daughter of the late Charles and Anne "Myra" (Sample) Hardy. She moved to Hudson with her family in 1960 and resided in Hudson for 45 years before moving to the Coleman House where she has resided the past 5 years. She worked for many years as an Office Manager for the former I.G.A. Supermarket in Hudson and later was the Office Manager for the Hudson Sun/Marlboro Enterprise in Marlboro for 20 plus years until her retirement. Marjorie enjoyed bowling, always looked forward to her trips to Cape Cod and as a hobby, loved creating many arts and crafts items for family and friends.
She is survived by her son, Jamie O'Brien and his fiancAC. Jennifer Loura, both of Hudson; her daughter, Pamela O'Brien and her fiancAC. Donald Conway, both of Clinton; three grandchildren, Jamie O'Brien, Michael O'Brien and his wife Melanie and Ami Cyr and her friend Jemel Crawford. She is also survived by her six great grandchildren and many friends.
Funeral services were held from the Tighe-Hamilton Funeral Home, Inc. 50 Central Street, Hudson, MA 01749. Burial was held in Forestvale Cemetery, Hudson. Donations in memory of Mrs. O'Brien may be made to: Alzheimer's Association (National Office), P.O. Box 96011, Washington, DC 20090-6011.
