Marjorie M. Wheeler, 82, died November 25, 2005 at Summit Place in Mooresville,NC. She was the wife of the late Russell B. Wheeler for 62 years before his passing in September, 2005.. Born in Hudson, MA, daughter of George C. and Dora F. (McCarthy) McGorty she was a lifetime resident of Hudson and Berlin.
She was employed by Fannie M. Dettling Atty. For 13 years. She was the founder of St. Joseph's Women's Club, spent three years as a playground supervisor in the town of Berlin, eleven years as a den Mother for the Cub Scouts and was a member of St. Joseph's Church.
She is survived by her son Brian Wheeler of Mooresville, NC, three granddaughters Tracy and Rachel Wheeler and Abby Baker, eleven great-grandchildren and one sister Dorothy Jaissle of York, ME. She was pre-deceased by her sons Kenneth Wheeler in 1981 and Russell Wheeler in 2004, her brothers George, Robert and John McGorty, her sisters Eileen P. Walkavich, Rita Sugden and Terese Filipe. Her funeral will be held from the Tighe-Hamilton Funeral Home Inc, 50 Central St. Hudson, MA 01749 Monday, November 28th with a funeral mass at 10:00 a.m. in Saint Joseph's Church, Berlin. Calling hours will be Sunday November 27, from 5:00 to 8:00 P.M. Burial will be in South Cemetery, Berlin.
In lieu of flowers, memorial donations may be made to the Rescue Squad of Berlin.
