Mary Ann (Caponi) Caruso, 88, of Sudbury, went home to be with the Lord on Thursday, Feb. 3rd after a lengthy illness. She was a resident of Saint Patrick's Manor in Framingham at the time of her death.
She was born in Hudson on April 16, 1922, daughter of Oreste and Ernesta (Davani) Caponi. She was predeceased by her husband, Albert Caruso formerly of Sudbury in 1983.
She is survived by her brother, Felix Caponi and his wife Betty of Hudson and many nieces and nephews. She was the sister of the late Frances (Caponi) Maccagnano, Alice (Caponi) Rainha, Victor Caponi, Anthony Caponi, Mario Caponi and Cesare Caponi.
Mary was active as a volunteer for the Sudbury Food Pantry and Our Lady of Fatima Church in Sudbury. She worked for many years as a licensed Practical Nurse before retirement.
Family and friends may attend a calling hour on Saturday, Feb. 12th from 8:00 to 8:45 a.m. at the Tighe-Hamilton Funeral Home, Inc. 50 Central Street, Hudson, MA 01749 (www.tighehamilton.com) followed by a funeral mass at 9:00 a.m. on Saturday, Feb. 12th in Saint Michael's Church, 21 Manning Street, Hudson. Burial will be held at the convenience of the family.
