She was a graduate of the first women's class at Tabor Academy where she and her fellow classmates won the state women's basketball and field hockey titles.

She was a devoted housewife and mother until her later years when she went to work for Digital Equipment Corporation as an entry-level employee. She worked there for 12 years rising to the level of Consultant.
Upon retirement, she traveled far and wide for a number of years. She thought nothing of jumping in her car alone and driving to northern Vermont to see her grandchildren.
She was an avid bridge player throughout her life and often competed in tournaments in Worcester and other locations.
She is survived by Christina Barton of Barton, Vermont and Mary Elizabeth Clouter, Malcolm Clouter, Jr. and Stephen Clouter all of Bolton. She is also survived by five grandchildren, eight great-grandchildren and five great-great-grandchildren.
