Hudson,MA Mary H. (Romaneski) Haczynski, 103, of Hudson, died on Wednesday, March 30th at Marlboro Hospital. She was the beloved wife of 60 plus years to the late Matthew V. Haczynski who died in 1986.
Mary was born and raised in Otter River, in the town of Templeton, where she attended local schools and graduated from High School. She was the daughter of the late Anthony and Regina (Szwabowska) Romaneski. She resided in Hudson most of her life after moving from Otter River at age 17.
She was employed by the former Ascutney Shoe Company in Hudson for many years as a fancy stitcher and prior to that, she was a talented seamstress and hat designer. Family and friends will always remember her for the excellent cook she was, especially all the traditional polish dishes and breads she prepared and shared with them. She was a member of Saint Michael's Parish in Hudson.
She is survived by her son, Ralph Edward Haczynski of Manhattan, New York; her daughter, Eleanor Ruth Ringland and her husband David of Stow; her sister, Janet Marie Iadarola of Dennis, Cape Cod and 5 grandchildren, Karen Rice of Belchertown, Ellen Concannon of Tewksbury, Susan Luz of Framingham, Julie Hart of Marlboro and David Ringland II of Milford. She is also survived by 8 great grandchildren and many nieces and nephews. She was the mother of the late Matthew T. Hazcynski of Ware who died in 2008 and sister of the late Harry Romaneski, Stella E. Tracy and Anna Iadarola.
A funeral mass will be celebrated on Saturday, April 2nd at 9:00 a.m. in Saint Michael's Church, 21 Manning Street, Hudson. Burial will follow in Saint Michael's Cemetery, Hudson. Calling hours will be held on Friday, April 1st from 5:00 to 8:00 p.m. at the Tighe-Hamilton Funeral Home, Inc. 50 Central Street, Hudson, MA 01749.
