Mary A. (Gilles) Holland, 82, of Hudson, died peacefully surrounded by her loving family on Friday, Jan. 29th at her residence in Hudson. She was predeceased by her husband of 52 years and love of her life, Kenneth Holland who died in 2001.
Mary was born in Ware, daughter of the late Francis and Ann (Reilly) Gilles and raised in Hudson. She was a graduate of Saint Michael's Academy in Hudson. Mary and Ken resided in Sudbury for 30 years where they raised their three children and has resided in Hudson the past 25 years. She was employed by the former Ann Taylor Sports Wear in Natick from 1966-71 and prior to that she was employed by the former Pot Shop in Sudbury from 1963-66. She retired from the former Dennison Manufacturing Co. in Framingham after many years as a national sales manager. She was a member of Saint Anslem's Church in Sudbury and prior to that she was a member of Our Lady of Fatima Church in Sudbury where she was a past President of the Lady's Guild. Mary and her husband Ken enjoyed traveling after retirement and were able to visit many destinations throughout the world.
Mary is survived by her three children, Ann Brady and her husband Patrick of Florida, Janice Rogers of Marlboro and Rich Holland and his wife Gretta of Marlboro. She is also survived by her five grandchildren, Bryan Rogers of Hudson, Matthew Holland of Boston, Andrew Holland of Marlboro, Mackenzie Brady and Morgan Brady, both of Florida and her great granddaughter, Hailey Rogers. She was the sister of the late Jean Butler and Francis Gilles Jr.
A funeral service will be held on Tuesday Feb. 2nd at 11:00 a.m. at the Tighe-Hamilton Funeral Home, Inc. 50 Central Street, Hudson, MA 01749. Burial will follow in Forestvale Cemetery, Hudson. Calling hours will be held on Monday, Feb. 1st from 4:00 to 7:00 p.m. in the funeral home. (www.tighehamilton.com).
