Mary Agnes (Misunas) Visockas

d. July 18, 2012

Bolton, MA
Mary Visockas (87) Wednesday, July 18th. Mary Agnes (Misunus) Visockas passed into glory at home, surrounded by her family, at the age of 87. She courageously fought cancer for the past 3 years. She was preceded by her son, Mark Louis Visockas. She is survived by her devoted husband of 60 years, Louis William Visockas. She leaves behind a legacy in her family: her daughter, Kathy (Visockas) Roberts and her husband Dana, of Bolton. Four grandchildren, Benjamin Roberts and his wife Jennie of Fitchburg, Amanda Mack and her husband Benjamin of Oxford, Edmund Roberts and his wife Shiloh of Princeton, and Christine Pieculewicz and her husband Brian of Bolton. She also leaves a brother-in-law, Francis Visockas of Bolton, a sister-in-law, Ann Romanoff of Charlton, a cousin, Mary Yurkus of East Templeton, and niece, Paula Romanoff of Sturbridge and her two sons, Jonathan and Paul Wisell. Her heritage also includes 8 beloved great-grandchildren.

As a lifelong resident of Bolton, she took great pleasure in seeing those around her excel, especially in the many activities she herself enjoyed. She was involved in cub scouts and 4-H; she was the first treasurer of the Bolton Garden Club, and a charter member of the Bolton Lions Club. She rejoiced at the successes of her students, as she taught ceramics out of her home for 15 years.

Alongside her husband Louis, they transformed her father's swamps and farmland into the ponds, paths and pastures of what is now Bower's Springs conservation land. She was continuously amazed at the volumes of people who made use of their old land, and was pleased that it was being enjoyed by so many.

Her words of encouragement and affirmation will be treasured by those she touched and knew. May she leap for joy into her Savior's arms

Family and friends may attend a graveside service on Saturday, July 21st at 9:30 a.m. in Saint John's Cemetery, Parker Road, Lancaster. Calling hours will be held on Friday, July 20th from 4:00 to 7:00 p.m. at the Tighe-Hamilton Funeral Home, Inc. 50 Central Street, Hudson, MA 01749.
