Michael Campo, 64, of Stow, formerly of Maynard, passed away unexpectedly on Wednesday, August 2, 2017 at Emerson Hospital. He leaves behind Linda A. (Rice) Campo, his beloved wife of forty years.

In addition to his devoted wife Linda, Michael is survived by his two sons, Shepard B. Campo and his wife Lisa of Stow, and Robin M. Campo and his fiancAC. Meng Qu of Waltham; three grandchildren, Seth Michael Anthony Campo, Emilio Sanchez, and Xaviar Jones; three brothers, Gary Campo of Northbridge, David Campo of Norwood, and Christopher Campo of Millbury; and many nieces and nephews.

Michael was born in Whitinsville, MA, a son of the late Anthony and Constance (Blouin) Campo. He graduated from Northbridge High School and earned a B.S. in math from the University of Massachusetts in Amherst. For over thirty-three years, Michael worked as a software engineer for Raytheon Company before retiring in 2013.

Michael was a master organizer of volunteer groups and a dedicated activist. He championed many local social and political causes, including Garden in the Woods of Framingham, where he was the head librarian, the pride and women's marches, and the local Indivisible Group. Michael kept his mind and body in shape as an avid reader and as a jogger, often participating in local charity 5k and road races. Michael was an extremely talented singer/songwriter and guitar player who loved to perform for people at his church events, cafAC.s, and local art center open mic nights. He was an animal lover, especially to his three Siamese cats, whom he adored.

Calling hours will be held from 4:00 PM until 7:00 PM on Monday August 7, 2017 at TIGHE HAMILTON REGIONAL FUNERAL HOME, 50 Central St. Hudson, MA 01749. A Memorial Service will be celebrated the following day at 11:00AM at First Parish Church of Stow and Acton, 353 Great Rd, Stow, MA 01775. Michael will be interred privately at Brookside Cemetery in Stow at a later time. In lieu of flowers memorial donations can be made to Buddy Dog Humane Society.
