Michael Arthur Newell, 58, a lifelong Bolton resident, passed away peacefully, on Thursday, October 20, 2022, at UMass Medical Center in Worcester, surrounded by his loving family, after a period of declining health.
Michael was born in Concord, MA, on April 16, 1964, one of three sons of Dianne “Paula” (Paquet) Newell. He was raised in Bolton and graduated high school from Nashoba Regional High School in the class of 1986. Michael worked for many years as a recycling specialist at National grid, in addition to several other positions locally.
Michael was a very active person throughout his life. He had many hobbies including, bowling, dancing and listening to music. He also was an avid athlete and participated in several special olympics over the years in track and field and swimming. He was a member of the local gym for many years and loved to work out and socialize with the other members. He was also a parishioner at Trinity Congregational Church in Bolton. Michael will be remembered by his loved ones as a world traveler, with a long list of places that he visited including, Europe, Hawaii, Alaska, the Caribbean and Costa Rica among just a few of them. Michael lived his life to the fullest and enjoyed every moment. He will be dearly missed by those who knew him.
Michael is survived by his mother, Dianne “Paula” (Paquet) Newell of Bolton; his brother, James R. Newell of Rangely, ME and several aunts, uncles and cousins. He was also predeceased by his brother, Paul A. Newell.
Relatives and friends are invited to gather at Eastwood Cemetery in Lancaster, MA, at 10am, on Wednesday, October 26, 2022 for a graveside committal service. There will be a celebration of his life immediately following at 11am at Trinity Church, 14 Wattaquadock Hill Rd, Bolton, MA, all are invited to attend. Tighe Hamilton Regional Funeral Home is honored to be assisting with his arrangements.
