Mildred M. (Bowser) Symonds, 96, of Sudbury, formerly of Marlboro and Hudson, died Thursday, November 27 at Wingate at Sudbury in Sudbury. She was the beloved wife of Walter E. Symonds who died in 1962.
Born in Hudson, daughter of the late Charles W. and Lillian W. (Lincoln) Bowser, she was raised in Hudson where she attended local schools. She worked as a stitcher for the former Diamond Shoe Co. of Marlboro for many years until her retirement. She was a member of the First Congregational Church of Marlboro, Past Nobel Grand and member of the Magnolia Rebecca Lodge #55 of Hudson for over 55 years.
She is survived by her nieces, nephews and cousins and was predeceased by her 2 brothers Ernest Bowser of Marlboro in 2007, Fredrick Bowser of Boston in 1989 and her sister Beatrice Bowser of Hudson in 2005.
A graveside service will be held on Tuesday, December 2, 2008 at 10:00 a.m. in the Maplewood Cemetery, Pleasant Street, Marlboro. There are no calling hours. Funeral arrangements are under the direction of: Tighe-Hamilton Funeral Home, Inc. 50 Central Street, Hudson, MA.
