Nancy (Glynn) Higgins, 83, of Hudson, died Easter Sunday, March 31st, at Coleman House in Northborough, MA, due to complications from Alzheimer's Disease. She was the loving wife for 56 years, of the late Robert D. Higgins of Hudson, MA who died in 2012. She was a life long resident of Hudson. She was born in Clinton, MA, daughter of the late Mary Bell (McIntyre) and William L. Glynn, Sr. She was the sister of the late William L. Glynn, Jr. and Judith (Glynn) Ross Plouffe. Nancy was a 1947 graduate of Hudson High School and member of Saint Michael's Parish in Hudson. Her first job was as a PBX operator at Sandoz Corp in Hudson. Later she worked as a waitress at the Lisbon Club then moved on to the Lance Corp, Hudson Lock, the office of Optometrist Dr. Richard N. Curtis, Boston Furniture Co. and finally to the Hudson Senior Center where she worked for 13 years. After her retirement, she was a member of the Hudson Council On Aging for nearly 12 years. Nancy was a devoted wife and mother. She never had a driver's license, was an avid walker and never had a job she could not walk to. She also loved to bake, read and do crossword puzzles. She is survived by her son, Timothy Higgins and his wife Marylou of Allenstown, NH; her three daughters, Colleen Higgins and her companion Henry Wheeler Jr. of Hudson, MA, Marykate Griffin and her husband William of Sudbury, MA and Maureen Avery and her husband Scott of Ashburnham, MA. She is also survived by her five grandchildren, Kou Meaghan Higgins of Novi, MI, Robert Higgins and his wife Carrie of Northfield, NH, Kyle Griffin and his wife Katelyn of Lowell, MA, Bridget Griffin of Charlestown, MA and Owen Griffin of Sudbury, MA. Also her four great grandchildren, Jackson and Zoey Higgins, Brooklyn Griffin and Remington Higgins. A funeral mass will be celebrated on April 5th at 9:00a.m. in Saint Michael's Church, 21 Manning Street, Hudson. Burial will follow in Forestvale Cemetery, Hudson. Calling hours will be held on Thursday, April 4th from 5:00 to 8:00 p.m. at the Tighe-Hamilton Funeral Home, Inc. 50 Central Street, Hudson, MA 01749. The family wishes to give special thanks to the Coleman House and Brookhaven Hospice for their exceptional support and loving care.
