Nathan Smith Jr., 87, of Hudson, died Thursday, Aug. 5th at Marlboro Hills Healthcare Center. He was the husband of the late Lillian B. (Wolfenden) Smith who died in 1992.
Born in Waltham, son of the late Nathan and Gladys (Savay) Smith, Mr. Smith was a WWII veteran, serving in the Asiatic Pacific Theater as a Staff Sgt. In the U.S. Army. He was employed as a mechanic by the Files Equipment Company of Acton for many years until his retirement. He enjoyed the outdoors and was an avid hunter and fisherman.
He is survived by his children, Nathan Smith of Hudson, Brian Smith of Sun City, Florida, Chadbourne Smith and his wife Renate of Hudson and Karen Yorston and her husband Kenneth of Hudson. He was the father of the late Barry Smith who died in 1995. He is also survived by his 11 grandchildren and 15 great grandchildren.
A graveside service will be held on Monday, Aug. 9th at 10:00 a.m. at the Forestvale Cemetery, Broad Street, Hudson. Calling hours will be held on Sunday, Aug. 8th from 5:00 to 8:00 p.m. at the Tighe-Hamilton Funeral Home, Inc. 50 Central Street, Hudson, MA 01749.
