Olga (Calvao) Batista, of Hudson, MA, passed away at her home surrounded by her loving family on Sunday, January 12, 2025. She is predeceased by her late husband of 62 years, Manuel Batista.
Olga was born in Hudson, MA, daughter of the late Manuel and Marianna (Feijo) Calvao. She was a lifelong resident of Hudson. She attended local schools and graduated from Hudson High School. She was a member of the former Hudson Women’s Club and the Ladies Sodality. She was also a member of Saint Michael Parish in Hudson.
Olga is survived by her two daughters Laura Bertonassi and her husband Mark of Hudson, Teresa McCook and her husband Chris of Georgia. She is also survived by her five grandchildren Sara Jacobson and her husband Matt, Beth Bertonassi, Jack Bertonassi and his wife Ashley, Samuel McCook and his wife Katherine, Zachary McCook and his wife Elizabeth; her four great-grandchildren Catherine, Abby, and Kyle Jacobson, and Emma Bertonassi; and many other relatives and friends. Olga is predeceased by her siblings Armand Calvao, Manny Calvao, and Dina Souza. She cherished spending time with her family, especially time with her grandchildren and great-grandchildren.
She enjoyed cooking, baking, and entertaining for family gatherings and events. In her free time Olga enjoyed playing games, doing puzzles, and was an avid reader; she particularly enjoyed her Pitch card nights with family throughout the years. Olga and her late husband Manny also enjoyed traveling. Olga will be greatly missed but never forgotten.
A funeral mass will be held at 10:00 am on Saturday January 18, 2025 at Saint Michael Parish Church, 21 Manning Street, Hudson, MA; procession to Saint Michael Cemetery for burial will follow immediately after the mass. Tighe Hamilton Regional Funeral Home is honored to be assisting the family with arrangements and there are no services at the funeral home.
