Ondina A. (Luz) Costa, 80, of Hudson, died on Monday, Nov. 1st at her residence surrounded by her loving family. She is survived by her husband of 46 years, Gastao F. Costa of Hudson.
Ondina was born and raised in the Azores of Portugal on the Island of Santa Cruz Graciosa, daughter of the late Joaquim R. and Maria Luz. She moved to the states in 1970 and has been a long time resident of Hudson. She was a loving wife and devoted most of her life to the raising of her five children. She cherished the time she spent with her grandchildren and great grandchildren. She was a member of Saint Joseph's the Good Provider Parish in Berlin.
Besides her husband, she is survived by her five children, Jose Costa and his wife Victoria of Webster, Maria M. Costa of Clinton, Augusto Costa and his wife Billie of Winchendon, Leonora Mickelson and her husband Henry of Hudson and Antonio Alberto Costa and his wife Jenny of Leominster. She is also survived by her two sisters, Maria Emilia da Luz of Portugal, Georgina Christopher of Florida; her grandchildren, Christopher, Kaitlyn, Elizabeth, Tina, Matthew, Emily, Zackary and Isabel Costa, Victoria and Sophia Mickelson and her two great grandchildren, Devlin and Savannah Cormier. She was the sister of the late Jose Santos of Portugal, Leal Luz and Joanna Medeiros, both of Hudson.
A funeral mass will be celebrated on Saturday, Nov. 6th at 11:00 a.m. in Saint Joseph's the Good Provider Church, 52 West Street, Berlin. Burial will follow in Forestvale Cemetery, Hudson. Calling hours will be held on Friday, Nov. 5th from 5:00 to 8:00 p.m. at the Tighe-Hamilton Funeral Home, Inc. 50 Central Street, Hudson, MA 01749.
