Orlando Barbosa, 70, of Hudson, passed away peacefully on Saturday, December 9, 2017 at Marlborough Hospital. He leaves behind his beloved wife Ednuzia (Silva) Barbosa.
Orlando was born and raised in Sao Paulo, Brazil, the son of the late Jose and Beatrice Barbosa. He has lived in Hudson for almost forty years. Orlando worked as a maintenance technician, for Hudson Lock and New England Tape, before he retired.
True to his Brazilian heritage, Orlando loved soccer, especially his hometown club, the Sao Paulo Corinthians. He also enjoyed his Brazilian soap operas, as well as taking pictures and sending them home for his family to see. Orlando was a social person who enjoyed talking to new people and getting to know everyone in town. He was an animal lover and he adored his German Shepard, “Malak”.
In addition to his wife Orlando is also survived by his children, Patti Spaulding and her husband Ed of Berlin, Michael Barbosa and his girlfriend Jen Geary of Hudson and Johny C. Barbosa and his wife Kaitlin of Warren, MN; his sister, Neide Barbosa Moleiro of Brazil; his grandchildren, Samantha Spaulding and SolviRen Barbosa and many nieces and nephews. He was also predeceased by his daughter, Gisele Barbosa and two brothers, Vincent and Jose Barbosa.
Friends and relatives are invited to a period of visitation from 5:00 pm until 7:00 pm followed by a Celebration of His Life, on Saturday, December 16, 2017 at TIGHE HAMILTON REGIONAL FUNERAL HOME, 50 Central St., Hudson, MA. Burial will be private at a later time.
