Patricia A. (Palmer) Leavis, 76, of Hudson, died peacefully surrounded by her family on Wednesday, June 10, after a period of declining health. She leaves behind her loving husband of 53 years, John P. Leavis.
Patricia was born in Waltham, daughter of the late Arthur and Dorothy (Nagle) Palmer. She was raised in Watertown and moved to Hudson in 1963. Patty loved spending time at the ocean, especially Hampton Beach and York Beach, Maine. She was an accomplished seamstress and loved knitting and crocheting items for her beloved grandchildren. She was an avid Red Sox fan and loved keeping up with family and friends on Facebook.
In addition to her husband, Patricia leaves behind her two daughters, Dawn M. Bacon and her husband Bob of Southborough, and Kimberly A. Tomaras and her partner Rob Kenney of Hampton, New Hampshire. She is also survived by her sister, Robin Joyce and her husband Larry of Hudson; and her seven grandchildren, Alyssa, Courtney, and Baylie Bacon; Danielle and Marissa Tomaras; Andrew Siniawski and Olivia Leavis; and many cousins, nieces and nephews. Patricia was predeceased by her brother, A. Warren Palmer, and her son Brian J. Leavis who died in January, 2014.
A funeral mass will be celebrated on Monday, June 15th at 11:00 a.m. in Saint Michael's Church, 21 Manning Street, Hudson. Burial will follow in Forestvale Cemetery, Hudson. Calling hours will be held on Sunday, June 14th from 4:00 to 7:00 p.m. at the Tighe--Hamilton Funeral Home, Inc. 50 Central Street, Hudson, MA 01749.
