Paul Leonard Badger
April 19, 1919 - November 4, 2006
Paul L, Badger, 87 of El Cajon, CA. died peacefully in his sleep on Nov. 4th. He was born in Medford, MA and was a resident of Hudson, MA for 58 years.
Mr. Badger was a veteran of World War II, having served as a flying instructor for both the U.S. Army Air Force and the Royal Air Force of England. During a 12 week break between training sessions, he volunteered to fly wounded soldiers out of the jungles of Burma to the Field Hospital and was instrumental in training pilots to continue the rescue missions.
Mr. Badger was a Pilot, a Cabinet Maker, an Executive Vice-president of the Vega Instrument Company, Inc. formerly of Needham, MA., a Hudson Police Officer, a Stow Police Inspector, a Notary Public, and when he moved to Wareham, MA in 1979, he owned his own security business and Duck Decoy Company, in which he hand-crafted a variety of birds. When he moved to California in 1993, he volunteered at the Gillespie Field Restoration Facility for the San Diego Aerospace Museum, restoring vintage aircraft.
He was son to Clarence and Ruth Badger and father to three children, Phyllis, Michael and Steven. Survivors include his son, Michael Badger of Lakeside, CA, nine grandchildren, 15 great grandchildren, all residing in California and a niece Carolyn Braczyk and nephew, George Braczyk both of Williamsburg, VA.
Service: Saturday, November 11th, 12:00 p.m., at Tighe Hamilton Funeral Home,
50 Central St., Hudson, MA. The Memorial Service is to be followed by graveside service at Forest Vale Cemetery in Hudson, MA.
