Wareham - Paul V. Coulombe, formerly of Falmouth and Hudson, Ma, died peacefully at home Sunday, August 29, 2010. He is survived by his loving wife of 49 years - Elizabeth "Betty" (Cronin) Dyer-Coulombe of Wareham.
He is also survived by 3 children - Christine Dyer of Clinton, MA, John Dyer and his wife, Susan of Burrillville, RI, Steven Dyer and his wife Doris of Woodstock, CT; a brother - Robert Coulombe of Marlboro, Ma.; 7 grandchildren - Edward and Lynn Munroe, Michael, Jarret, Erin, Meghan and Kaitlin Dyer; 4 great grandchildren - Lyndsie, Bodie, Adaliese and Bradley; and nieces and nephews. He was predeceased by a sister - Jeanette Denoncourt and brother - Norman Coulombe.
Born, February, 9, 1932 in Lewiston, Maine, son of William and Laura Coulombe (Bilodeau), Paul grew up with a love of sports especially hockey, golf and Patriot's football. He graduated from Marlboro High School and was involved in the successful start of the Marlboro Youth Hockey League and coached Pee Wee hockey for a number of years.
Paul worked at BA Corbins Shoe as a stitcher and retired in 1992, after 20+ years at the Hudson Post Office. Paul received an honorable discharge from the National Guard giving 21 years of service to his country. His love of the ocean, and dreams of living at the Cape eventually came true and he enjoyed many years in Falmouth and then Wareham.
Paul was an honest, committed and caring man - full of integrity. He will be missed dearly by his family and friends.
Family and friends are invited to attend a brief committal service for Mr. Coulombe at the Bourne National Veterans' Cemetery, Connery Avenue, Bourne, MA on Thursday, Sept. 9th at 12:30 p.m.. All those attending should arrive at the cemetery 15 minutes prior to the service. There are no calling hours.
