Philip R. Scott Jr., 82, of Berlin, died at his residence on Thursday, May 10th surrounded by his loving family. He is survived by his wife of 10 years, Judith E. Duff of Berlin.
Philip was born in Worcester and raised in Westboro, son of the late Philip R. Scott Sr. and Hazel M. (Bach) Scott. He attended local schools and was a graduate of Westboro High School. He received a Bachelor of Science Degree in Electrical Engineering from Worcester Polytechnic Institute, his Master of Science Degree in Electrical Engineering from the University of Pennsylvania, and his PhD in Electrical Engineering from Northeastern University. He retired as a Principal Engineer from Digital Equipment Corporation in Maynard after over 20 years.
Besides his wife, he is survived by his three daughters, Paula Scott of Kansas, Jennifer Berryman and her husband Mark of New York and Victoria Scott of Florida. He is also survived by his sister, Sara-Jane Chambers and her husband Dale of Westboro; his five grandchildren, Rachel and Megan Berryman, Aaron Michael, Tyler Brock and Joshua Christopher Lamb and many nieces and nephews. He was the brother of the late Paula D. Scott of Westboro and Alwyn C. Scott of Arizona.
Family and friends are invited to visit with the family on Saturday, May 19th from 10:00 to 11:00 a.m. at the Tighe-Hamilton Funeral Home, Inc. 50 Central Street, Hudson, MA 01749 followed by a service and celebration of Philip's life at 11:00 a.m. on Saturday, May 19th at the funeral home. Burial services will immediately follow in North Cemetery, Berlin.
