Raul Alarcon, 89, of Hudson, formerly of Lima, Peru, died Tuesday, April 6th at his home surrounded by his loving family. He leaves his wife of 56 years, Adela (Plasencia)) Alarcon of Hudson.
Raul was born in Lima, Peru, son of the late Hector and Rosa (Meza) Alarcon. He resided in Peru most of his life where for over 50 years he served as a Pastor and Evangelist with the Seventh-Day Adventist Church. Following his retirement he moved to Massachusetts in 1991. He continued preaching the Gospel and witnessing until his final day. Raul was well known by his family, neighbors' and friends for his talents as a handyman and he was always looking to assist those that needed his assistance throughout the community. He was a member of the Northborough Seventh-Day Adventist Church and was an avid walker.
Besides his wife, he is survived by his four children, Rosa A. Alarcon, Ena E. Alarcon, both of Worcester, Raul Alarcon Jr. of Lancaster and Nora A. Alarcon of Clinton. He is also survived by his sister, Lilia J. Alarcon of Peru; his brother, Alejandro Molina of Venezuela; seven grandchildren, Jose, Miguel, Lilian, Leonardo, Diana, Sebastian and Daniel along with several nieces, nephews and cousins..
A funeral service will be held on Friday April 9th at 10:00 a.m. at the Northborough Seventh-Day Adventist Church, 30 Brigham Street, Northborough. Burial will follow in Forestvale Cemetery, Hudson. Calling hours will be held on Thursday, April 8th from 6:00 to 9:00 p.m. at the: Tighe-Hamilton Funeral Home, Inc. 50 Central Street, Hudson, MA 01749.
In lieu of flowers, a memorial fund has been established in Pastor Alarcon's name at Workers Credit Union, C/O Lancaster, P.O. Box 900, Fitchburg, MA 01420.
