Raymond J. Guerard, 76, a long time resident of Hudson, died on Saturday, Sept. 17th at his residence. He leaves his wife of 54 years, Carol Ann (Bonazzoli) of Hudson.
He was born and raised in Berlin, son of the late Wesley and Bertha (Latulip) Guerard. He attended local schools and was a graduate of Hudson High School, class of 1953. He later attended Holy Cross College in Worcester and received his Bachelor's Degree in 1957. Raymond excelled in football along with participating in other sports at both the High school and College levels .Following college, he joined the U.S. Air Force in 1957, he served as a lieutenant and spent time as an advisor to the Civil Air Patrol, he was honorably discharged in 1959. He moved to Hudson in 1959 and he owned and operated Raymond J. Guerard Construction Co. from 1964 until his retirement.
Raymond was a member of the Hudson Rotary Club and Hudson Lodge of Elks. Besides spending time with his family, one of his favorite hobbies was piloting his airplane, he cherished the solitude of the open skies.
Besides his wife, he is survived by his two sons, John P. Guerard of Marlborough and James Coyiuto of Manilla, in the Philippines. He is also survived by his two granddaughters, Jennie Guerard, Caitlin Coyiuto and several nieces and nephews. He was the brother of the late Richard Guerard of Berlin.
Family and friends may attend calling hours on Tuesday, Sept. 20th from 9:00 to 11:00 a.m. at the Tighe-Hamilton Funeral Home, Inc. 50 Central Street, Hudson, MA 01749 (www.tighehamilton.com) followed by a funeral service at 11:00 a.m. in the funeral home. Burial will follow in Saint Michael's Cemetery, Hudson.
