Raymond Paul Hanley, 67, of Berlin, MA, passed away peacefully at home, with his beloved family by his side, on Wednesday, September 14, 2022.
Raymond was born in Tewksbury, MA, on January 26, 1955, a son of the late Flora E. Hanley. He was raised by his late aunt, Frelove S. Crouch and his great-great-grandmother, Edith Allsobrooks in Berlin, MA, where he was a lifelong resident. Raymond attended Berlin schools and later Tahanto High School. He worked for many years as a mailroom clerk for Digital Corporation at the Maynard Mill and later at Staples, before eventually retiring.
Throughout his life Raymond had a passion for music and was a talented musician. He was a skilled guitarist and horn player as well as a gifted vocalist. He especially enjoyed country and western music as well as 60’s and 70’s pop music. He was a regular patron at several karaoke lounges, where he practiced his vocal skills. Raymond was also a fierce SciFi enthusiast and a lifelong trekkie.
Raymond is survived by his sister Tammie-Lynn (Hanley) Coulter and her husband James of Malden and his cousin, who was like a sister, April A. Crouch of Berlin. He was also predeceased by many other aunts and uncles and cousins.
A period of visitation will be held from 11am-12pm, immediately followed by a Celebration of his Life, at 12pm, on Monday, September 26, 2022, at Tighe Hamilton Regional Funeral Home, 50 Central St. Hudson, MA. A funeral cortege will process to Forest Vale Cemetery following the Celebration for interment services.
