Raymond Charles Patterson, 62, of Hudson, passed away on Friday March 25th surrounded by his loving family. He is survived by his wife Susan (Lovelace) Patterson and son Garrett Patterson of Fitchburg.

Raymond was born and raised in Hudson son of the late Otty and Rita (Farley) Patterson. He was a 1971 graduate of Hudson High School and was a member of the football team. Ray was employed as a custodian for the Nashoba Regional School District for many years. He was a life member of the Hudson Amvet's Post #208; Commander of Sons of Amvet's; he was a member of Hudson Cub Scout Pack #3 in Hudson and a member of Snow-Moles (snow mobile club) in New Hampshire.

Ray was an avid outdoorsman and looked forward to frequent camping trips to his campsite at Deception Mountain in New Hampshire. He enjoyed fishing and taking part in the annual trout fishing derby at Trips Pond in Hudson when he was younger. His most memorable moment fishing was landing a prize 123 lb. Halibut in Homer, AK. Christmas was a special season to Ray, and was well known in his community as the proprietor of Ray's Tree Land which he ran for over 20 years. He was a loving husband, father and loyal friend. He will be remembered for his sense of humor, a man of few words and his great big smile. He will truly be missed by all who knew and loved him.

Besides his wife and son he is survived by his two sisters, Patricia McInnes and her husband George of Hudson and Debra Whistler of California, his two brothers James Patterson of Florida and Thomas Patterson of Arkansas as well as many nieces and nephews.

A funeral service and celebration of Raymond's Life will be held on Friday, April 1st at 2:00 p.m. in the Tighe-Hamilton Funeral Home, Inc. 50 Central Street, Hudson, MA 01749 Burial services will follow in Forestvale Cemetery, Hudson. Family and friends may attend calling hours on Thursday, March 31st from 5:00 to 8:00 p.m. and Friday, April 1st from 12:00 noon to 2:00 p.m. prior to the service at the funeral home.
