Richard A. Bamford

Richard A. Bamford, 77, passed away unexpectedly on Tuesday, January 19, 2021.  He is survived by his wife of 57 years, Carolyn L. (Steele) Bamford of Hudson, MA;  his daughters: Pamela Bamford and her partner Bart Usher of Hudson, MA and Linda Stapel and her husband Ronald of Greenville, NH; 3 grandchildren: Sean, Amber and Ryan along with numerous cousins and friends.

Richard was born in Concord, MA the loving son of the late Lewis and Mildred (Pittsley) Bamford, and grew up in Stow, MA graduating from Stow High School.  He attended UMASS Lowell where he earned his Bachelor's Degree in Accounting.  He worked at General Radio Corp. in Concord, Michael’s Machinery in Boxborough and for 28 years with Suburban Manor in Acton until his retirement in 2012.  Richard and Carolyn loved to travel and visited much of the US, always stopping in Las Vegas.  He loved to play cards and all types of games.  He trained and owned harness horses and was a longtime member of the Littleton Sportsman Club.  He enjoyed fishing, hunting, archery, candlepin bowling, history, photography and watching sports.  Richard also enjoyed increasing his knowledge on a wide variety of topics and was a lifelong learner.  All who knew him will miss his presence very much.
