Richard P. Giroux, 85, of Hudson, MA, formerly of Marlborough, MA, died on Friday, February 28, 2025, at UMASS Memorial Medical Center, University Campus in Worcester, MA. He leaves his beloved wife of 29 years, Neusely (Lopes) Giroux of Hudson, MA.

Richard was born in Concord, MA, son of the late Thomas and Maria (Bilodeau) Giroux. He was raised in Marlborough, MA attending local schools, and resided in Marlborough most of his life. Richard was a Vietnam Veteran serving in the U.S. Army National Guard. He worked for the State of Massachusetts Department Public Works as a foreman for many years until retiring in 2001. He was a member of the Hudson Lodge of Elks, Saint Michael Parish in Hudson and a member of the Hudson Senior Center.

Besides his wife, Richard is survived by his 3 daughters, Michelle Coppola-Hooper and her husband Michael of Hudson, MA, Nadia Giroux and her partner Shawn Zina of Marlborough, MA and Jenifer Giroux-Dejesus of Marlborough, MA. He is also survived by his grandchildren, Michael and Matthew Coppola, Hope Beley, Tyler and Darien Burke, Kaiser Zina, Sabastian and Emani Dejesus, Jayden Giroux along with his 2 great grandchildren, Hazel Giroux and Josephvoni Burke.

Richard was an avid sports fan all his life and always enjoyed walking in his spare time. He loved to cook, especially for special gatherings of family and friends and he was devoted husband and father. His accomplishments and dedication to the Martial Arts was his passion, he attained 3rd Degree Black Belt status while studying the art of Karate. Richard also enjoyed spending time at the Hudson Senior Center and attending the monthly Veteran’s meetings at the center. He will truly be missed by those who loved and knew him.

A memorial mass will be held at Saint Michael Church, 21 Manning Street, Hudson, MA on Friday, March 14, 2025 at 10:00 AM. Burial services will be held privately at the convenience of the family. Tighe Hamilton Regional Funeral Home is honored to be assisting the family with arrangements.
