Richard O. Miller, 91, of Hudson, died on Wednesday, Aug. 15th at Wingate at Reading. He was the beloved husband of 49 years to the late Cecile (Brooks) Miller who died in 1997.
Richard was born in Williamsburg, MA, son of the late William and Lillian (Ogden) Miller. He was raised in East Topsham, VT and was a graduate of Bradford Academy in Bradford, VT. He later received his Bachelor's Degree from Lyndon State College in Vermont. Richard had resided in Hudson since 1945 and was employed by General Motors for 32 years until his retirement in 1981.
Richard was an avid outdoorsman for most of his life. He enjoyed fishing in his spare time and found the time to author a book titled "Short Glimpses Into a Time Long Gone", a true account of his life experiences in his own humoristic style. His loving family will remember him as a loving husband, father and grandfather.
He is survived by his two children, Nancy D'Amico and her husband Vincent of Burlington, MA, Donald R. Miller and his wife Gail of Fremont, NH and was predeceased by his son, John C. Miller. He is also survived by his five grandchildren, Matthew and Victoria Miller, Heather and John Miller, Laura Broder and his great grandson Benjamin.
A celebration of Richard's life will be held on Sunday, Aug. 19th at 10:00 a.m. in the Tighe-Hamilton Funeral Home, Inc. 50 Central Street, Hudson, MA 01749. Burial will follow in Saint Michael's Cemetery, Hudson. Family and friends may attend calling hours on Saturday, Aug.18th from 4:00 to 7:00 p.m. at the funeral home.
