Hudson, MA
Richard F. Rowan-81, of Hudson, MA, died Saturday, February 3, 2007, at the Southwood at Norwell Nursing Center in Norwell, MA.
He was the husband of the late Marion R. (Martin) Rowan who died February 27, 2006.
He was born in Framingham, MA, son of the late George and Alice (MaGlinchy) Rowan.
He served in the U.S. Navy during WWII.
He worked as a computer analyst for the Honeywell Corp. in Billerica until his retirement.
Mr. Rowan and his wife moved to Hudson, MA in 1951 and raised their three children. He was active in the Saint Vincent de Paul Society with his wife and enjoyed traveling with family, visiting 49 states, Bermuda and Ireland. He was a former member of the Knights of Columbus in Hudson, a former member of Christ King Parish in Hudson and member of Saint Michael's Parish in Hudson.
He is survived by his 3 children, Michael Rowan of Newburyport, MA, Carol Rowan West of Marshfield, MA and Gail McCabe of Largo, FL. He is also survived by his sister Alice Rowan of Watertown, MA, 5 grandchildren and 2 great grandchildren.
A funeral mass will be celebrated Thursday, February 8, 2007 at 9:00 a.m. in Saint Michaels Church 21 Manning street Hudson, MA. Calling hours will be held Wednesday, February 7, from 5:00 to 8:00 p.m. at the Tighe-Hamilton Funeral Home, Inc. 50 Central Street, Hudson, MA 01749.
