Richard D. Shea, Sr.

Richard D. “Pepe Dicka” Shea Sr., 81 years old, of Hudson Massachusetts, passed away peacefully on September 29, 2018 surrounded by his loving family. He is survived by his wife of 58 years Marion L. (Ordway) Shea of Marlboro Mass.; sons, Keith R. Shea and wife Cindy of Marlboro Mass., Richard D. Shea Jr. and wife Linda of Leominster Mass. and Christopher J. Shea and wife Christina of Hudson Mass.; Nine grandchildren, Ashley Shea, Matthew Shea, Katy (Shea) Mitchell, Meaghan (Shea) Maldari, Richard D. Shea 3rd, Devon Shea, Alexa Shea, Kayley Shea, Emma Shea and 3 great-grandchildren, John Shea, Kylie Mitchell and Mason Mitchell.

He was a member of St. Michael Parish, Hudson Rod and Gun Club and a devoted dog lover of many many “4 legged kids “. He was born in Worcester, Mass. and graduated from Northborough High School Class of 54. He enjoyed playing baseball, basketball and football. He loved coaching Hudson Little League Baseball and Hudson Youth Hockey for many years winning championship seasons in both 1970’s leagues. He loved his Boston Bruins, Celtics, Red Sox and New England Patriots. He was a devoted father who enjoyed endless hours throwing baseballs and footballs in the backyard or shooting hockey pucks and tennis balls in the street with his “3 boys”.

He proudly served and was Honorably Discharged from the United States Air Force Strategic Air Command Unit from 1954 to 1958. He established an accomplished career in the interstate trucking industry managing several nationwide carrier fleets in the North East region. God Bless You “Pepe Dicka”, son, husband, father, Veteran, patriot and friend. Your memory and presence have been forever left in the hearts of your many friends and family.

Friends and family members are invited to attend calling hours at the Tighe Hamilton Regional Funeral Home, 50 Central Street, Hudson from 4:00 to 7:00 pm on October 3, 2018.  A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated at Saint Michael Parish, 21 Manning Street, Hudson at 9:00 am on Thursday October 4, 2018.
