Hudson, MA
Richard A. Silva, 82, a life long resident of Hudson, died Monday, Sept. 5th at Beaumont Skilled Nursing and Rehabilitation Center in Westboro. He was the beloved husband of the late Ann M. (Bilodeau) Silva who died in April of 2011.
Richard was born in Marlboro and raised in Hudson, son of the late Emanuel and Mary (O'Brien) Silva. He attended local schools and was a graduate of Hudson High School. He served in the Massachusetts National Guard and was a life member of the Hudson Lodge of Elk's and member of Saint Michael's Parish in Hudson.
Richard was employed for many years by Wonder Bread Bakery in Natick until retiring in 1995 and was also employed as a salesman by John Hancock Insurance Co. of Boston for 25 years and worked for the former LaPointe's Machine Shop in Hudson prior to John Hancock.
He is survived by his three children, Robert Silva and his wife Erin of Hudson, Paul Silva and his spouse William Shaw of Hopkinton and Peter Silva and his wife Kelly of Hubbardston. He is also survived by his seven grandchildren, Chelsea, Arianna, Morgan, Madeline, Rylee, Jordyn, Owen and many nieces and nephews. He was predeceased by his three siblings..
A funeral mass will be celebrated at 9:00 a.m. on Friday, Sept. 9th in Saint Michael's Church, 21 Manning Street, Hudson. Burial in Saint Michael's Cemetery, Hudson, will be held at a later date. Family and friends may attend calling hours on Thursday, Sept. 8th from 5:00 to 7:00 p.m. at the Tighe-Hamilton Funeral Home, Inc. 50 Central Street, Hudson, MA 01749
