Richard J. Yorston, 86, of Marlborough, MA, and formerly Hudson, MA, passed away peacefully on Saturday, January 30, 2021 at UMass Memorial Hospital in Worcester, due to complications from Covid-19. He leaves his beloved wife of 60 years, Barbara A. (Lawler) Yorston.
Richie was born in Waltham, MA, on October 17, 1934, a son of the late Joseph Yorston and Mary (Steele) Yorston. He was raised in Waltham where he graduated from Saint Charles High School. Richie studied at Boston College where he graduated with a B.S. in Economics. After graduation he began a long career as a Systems Analysts for Arkwright Boston, Raytheon and Digital Corporation. Shortly after marrying the love of his life, he and Barbara moved to Hudson, where they resided for 35 years before retiring to Venice, FL. About 10 years ago they moved back to Marlborough.
Family was the most important aspect of his life. He loved vacationing or just spending time with family and friends. In his spare time he enjoyed golfing and following all New England sports. He was also a devout Catholic.
Richie is survived by his beloved wife of 60 years Barbara A. (Lawler) Yorston, his devoted and loving children David and his wife Rose, Kathleen Newton, Shannon Burke and husband Alan, his cherished grandchildren Eric, Josh, Alec, Cameron, Connor, Renee, Janelle and Gregory.
Brother of the late Iris Yorston Gurney, Raymond, Lawrence, Ronald, Hilton, Norman and Robert Yorston.
Family & Friends are invited to attend a socially distanced Graveside Committal Service at 10:30am on Friday, February 5, 2021 at Forestvale Cemetery on Broad St. in Hudson, MA.
