Rita M. (Cain) Gately, 88, of Hudson, died on Thursday, March 26 at the Grand Oaks Nursing Center in Baldwin, MI with her loving daughter Ann at her side. She was the beloved wife for 57 years to Albert J. "Mickey" Gately who died in Jan. of 2003.
Born in Clinton, daughter of the late Leon and Celia (Lovely) Cain, she was a 1938 graduate of Hudson H.S. She was employed as a bookkeeper for many years at the former Braga Shoe, CO. and later by the former I. Foulds & Son of Hudson until her retirement. She was a member of Saint Michael's Parish in Hudson.
Rita is survived by her daughter, Ann Gately of Baldwin, MI and many nieces and nephews. She was the sister to the late Richard Cain and Margaret Schaaf.
A funeral mass will be celebrated on Monday, March 30 at 9:00 a.m. in Saint Michael's Church, 21 Manning Street, Hudson. Burial will follow in Forestvale Cemetery, Hudson. Calling hours will be held on Sunday, March 29, from 3:00 to 5:00 p.m. at the Tighe-Hamilton Funeral Home, Inc. 50 Central St. Hudson, MA 01749.
