Rita A. (Murphy) Millett, 78, of Hudson, died on Tuesday, March 8th at Marlboro Hospital. She was the wife of the late Robert P. Millett who died in Nov. of 2000.
Rita was born and raised in Hudson, daughter of the late Thomas J. and Malvina (Wojtkiewitcz) Murphy. She resided in Hudson all her life and was a graduate of Hudson High School, class of 1950. She was employed by the Murphy Insurance Agency in Hudson for many years as a clerk in the Claims Dept. until her retirement.
She is survived by her children, Bryan R. Millett of Hudson, Peter J. Millett of Bremen, Maine, David J. Millett of Somerset; her three brothers, Leo Murphy of Hudson, Walter Murphy of West Newbury, Francis Murphy of Oregon; her five sisters, Helen LeBlanc of Annandale, Virginia, Jean Simard of Hudson, Mary Ellen Seay of Chelmsford, Carol Laviolette of South Carolina and Kathleen Gregorie of Hudson. She is also survived by her six grandchildren, Nathanial, Alyson, Jamie, Kristen, Kayley, Courtney and many nieces and nephews. She was the sister of the late Thomas and John Murphy.
Family and friends may attend calling hours on Friday, March 11th from 6:00 p.m. to 9:00 p.m. followed by a funeral service at 9:00 p.m. on Friday March 11th at the Tighe-Hamilton Funeral Home, Inc. 50 Central Street, Hudson, MA 01749. Burial services will be held on Saturday, March 12th in Forestvale Cemetery, Hudson.
