Robert A. Battisti, 73, of Hudson passed away peacefully on October 26, at Marlborough Hospital following an illness.
He is survived by a sister Elizabeth A. of Clinton, two brothers, James M. and his wife Dee of Swarthmore, Pennsylvania and Paul E. of Modesto, California and many cherished nieces and nephews. His sister Gloria M. Moran pre deceased him in July 2011.
Robert was born on October 9, 1939 in Marlborough, MA, son of Mario A. and Mary C. (Morini) Battisti and was a lifetime resident of Hudson.
Bob graduated from Waltham Vocational High School in 1958. He was a member of the International Brotherhood of Electrical Workers, AFL-CIO.
Bob enlisted in the US Navy and served at Naval Air Station Brunswick, Brunswick, Maine, NAS Jacksonville, Jacksonville, Florida and NAS Quonset Point, Quonset Point, Rhode Island. After an Honorable Discharge in 1962, he remained in the Naval Reserves until 1964.
Bob worked for Raytheon, Honeywell INC; and Data General as a quality control inspector.
Bob was a kind, quiet and unassuming man with a great sense of humor.
Bob always found time to donate his time and funds to various charitable organizations. He was a volunteer at Marlborough Hospital since 1999, logging 1340 hours of volunteering.
Bob will be missed by his family and friends.
A memorial service and celebration of Robert's life will be held on Saturday, Nov. 3rd at 10:30 a.m. in the Tighe-Hamilton Funeral Home, Inc. 50 Central Street, Hudson, MA 01749.
