Robert E. Brissette

September 10, 1950 — March 6, 2021

Hudson

Robert “Bob” Everett Brissette, 70, of Boylston, longtime Hudson resident and businessman, passed away unexpectedly at home, on Saturday, March 7, 2021. He leaves his beloved wife of 45 years, Robin J. (Parker) Brissette.

In addition to his wife, Bob is also survived by his two loving sons, Blair R. Brissette and his wife Heather of Boylston and Ian M. Brissette of Metuchen, N.J. and two cherished grandchildren, Isabelle Brissette and Colin Brissette.

Bob was born on September 10, 1950 in Hudson, MA, the only child of the late Everett F. and Mary (Griffin) Brissette. Bob was a Hudson High school graduate of the class of 1968, where he played hockey and was a member of the 1964-1965 hockey team, which was inducted to the Hudson High School Hall of Fame. After graduating, Bob spent his early years working for his family’s business at Arcwood Corporation of Hudson, making hand carved church furniture. He then joined Larkin Lumber Company where he was employed as an estimator. He later served as the president of the company, retiring after 37 years of dedicated service until the company closed in 2013. For the past seven years Bob has owned and operated Larkin Custom Millwork with his son Blair. Bob has been an active member of the Hudson community  his entire life. As a business owner and supporter of the town he grew up in, he joined Hudson’s Business Improvement District, contributing funds for the improvement and beautification of downtown Hudson. He was also the past president of the Hudson Rotary Club.

Above all, Bob was a devoted family man. He and Robin raised their two sons in a home built by Bob and his Dad in 1976 in the town of Boylston. They recently celebrated their 45th anniversary and were looking forward to post-covid travel together.

Bob’s greatest joy was watching his sons grow up and develop their own talents. Whether coaching T-Ball, Little League, or attending music performances or concerts, he was a constant presence. With the arrival of grandchildren, “Grampy’s” pride and devotion continued. He cherished their weekly visits, and on weekends in the spring and summer, he would happily travel between softball and little league fields to watch them play, no matter the weather or distance.

Bob also loved hosting and preparing meals for large and small family cookouts and mealtimes throughout the year. He would often say that having the whole family at the house for holiday dinners and celebrations was a special joy for him.

A Graveside Committal Service will be held at 12:30pm on Wednesday, March 10, 2021 at Forestvale Cemetery on Broad Street in Hudson, MA. Tighe Hamilton Regional Funeral Home is honored to be assisting with his arrangements.
