Robert F. Caty, 73, died Monday June 13, 2005 at U-Mass Medical Center in Worcester. He was husband of Sheila (Whalen) Caty for 47 years. Born in Cambridge we attended High School at Rindge Tech. He served his country in the Korean Conflict in the Army and was a decorated War Veteran. After returning from Korea he enrolled in Northeast University and graduated in 1960 with a bachelors of Science in Business Administration. After college he was employed with the United States Department of Defense working in the Springfield Armory and then Boston. He retired in 1994. He was an active participant in sports all of his life. Robert played football, hockey and baseball at Northeastern University as well many seasons on a semi-pro football team. He was a professional Hockey referee and officiated High School, College and American Hockey League games. He also coached Hockey and Baseball in Hudson. Besides his wife Sheila he is survived by his children Michael of Amherst, NY, David of Northborough, Mary Bonner of Bolton, Thomas of Hudson, Deborah Kapopolous of Florence, South Carolina, Jeffery of Wilton, CT and Robert of Charlotte North Carolina. He is also survived by 15 grandchildren. Visiting hours will be held Sunday June 19, 2005 4-7pm at the Tighe-Hamilton Funeral Home Inc. 50 Central Street Hudson. A Funeral Mass will be held at St. Michael's Church 21 Manning Street Hudson on Monday June 20th at 9am. Burial in Forestvale Cemetery, Hudson. In lieu of flowers memorial donation may be made to either The American Cancer Society or The Our Danny Fund at the University of Mass Medical Center.
