Robert E. Faria, 81, of Hudson, died on Tuesday, Feb. 17th at Marlboro Hospital. He leaves his wife of 60 years, Rena M. (Casaceli) Faria of Hudson.
He was born in Clinton, MA , son of the late Emil and Emily (Madeiros) Faria and was a graduate of Hudson H.S., class of 1945. He was a veteran of WWII and Korea, serving in the Army during WWII and the Air Force during the Korean War. He was a salesman for the former Washington Street Motors in Hudson for many years and prior to that he owned and operated the former Shopper's Liquor Mart in Hudson. He was a life member of the Hudson Elks, former member and past President of the Hudson Rotary Club and was one of the founding members of the Hudson Boy's Club.
Besides his wife, he is survived by his four sons, Robert Faria of Worcester, Paul Faria of Acton, Donald Faria of San Jose, CA and James Faria of Weston, FL. He is also survived by his grandchildren, Peter Faria of Ware, Lisa Brady of Rocky Hills, CT, Christopher and Patrick Faria of San Jose, CA, Thomas and Emily Faria of Weston, FL and his great grandchildren, Samantha and Ryan Brady of Rocky Hills, CT. He was pre-deceased by his sister, Alma Battye.
A funeral mass will be celebrated on Saturday, Feb. 21st at 10:00 a.m. in Saint Michael's Church, 21 Manning Street, Hudson. Burial will follow in Forestvale Cemetery, Hudson. Calling hours will be held on Friday, Feb. 20th from 4:00 to 7:00 p.m. at the Tighe-Hamilton Funeral Home, Inc. 50 Central St. Hudson, MA 01749.
