Robert H. Ryan Jr., 69, of Hudson, died unexpectedly on Thursday, Oct. 28th at Marlboro Hospital after being stricken ill at his home.
Robert was born and raised in Hudson, son of the late Robert H. Ryan Sr. and survived by his mother, Ruth W. (Cummings) Ryan of Hudson. He studied at local schools until he began his career in auto body repair by attending the Worcester Trade School Automotive Courses in Worcester. He was hired out of Worcester Trade School as an auto body technician by the late Argeo "Junior" Cellucci, owner of the former Washington Street Motors in Hudson. He spent many years there and later worked for several auto body shops locally and in Florida where he resided from 1970 to 1990.
Besides his mother, he is survived by his daughter, Chelsea Ryan of Marlboro; his two sisters, Linda Ryan of Clinton, Roberta Chapman of Framingham; his brother, Norman Ryan of North Carolina and many nieces and nephews. He was the brother of the late Dennis and Daniel Ryan.
Mr. Ryan enjoyed his trade, especially the times at Washington Street Motors and most of all he cherished the times he shared with his daughter Chelsea.
Family and friends may attend a graveside service to be held on Monday, Nov. 1st at 1:00 p.m. in Forestvale Cemetery, Broad Street, Hudson. There are no calling hours. Funeral arrangements are under the direction of: Tighe-Hamilton Funeral Home, Inc. 50 Central Street, Hudson, MA 01749 .
